04/05 : The Bravery/Confessions Of A Star Launch Elemental Radio!!!

The Bravery

What if all the members of Visage, Japan, Duran Duran, and John Foxx-era Ultravox got together for a jam session? It might sound something like The Bravery. By blending the raw energy of a gritty, garage rock band with analog synthesizers, they create something almost entirely unique. For the past two years, lead vocalist Sam Endicott, guitarist Michael Zakarin, bassist Mike H., keyboardist John Conway, and drummer Anthony Burulcich locked themselves behind the doors of their Lower East Side rehearsal studio in New York honing their sound. It wasn't long before the band was playing shows and began to garner attention from major labels. They signed with the UK based Loog Records, scored a deal with Island/Def Jam in the US, and haven't looked back since. The Bravery released the Unconditional EP in December 2004 to independant radio acclaim while touring the UK, and their self-titled debut album will see a worldwide release on March 29th this year. The album's first single, "An Honest Mistake" has already made huge ground. It's earned primetime rotation on radio stations and music video channels while their first worlwide tour is currently in progress.

What are you all waiting for, an open invitation? The Bravery have everything a good rock band needs and a driving synth complimenting those heavy guitars to boot! Not since the 80's New Wave invasion has a band been able to so adequately blend rock and synths, and believe me when I say that these guys aren't clones trying to kickstart an old revoution. The Bravery is for real and fully capable of making a name for themselves. Get Your Fix Here!!! Click away and check them out for yourself...

Confessions Of A Star

Have you ever discovered a band thats so undergorund and independant that you kept them to yourself? A band so good, that your almost afraid of letting others in on your new find for a fear of them becoming the topic of every conversation related to music? So have I...well...until now that is. It was through my fiance that I got my first listen of Confessions Of A Star. She sent me an mp3 of their song "When You Say It" and upon the first chorus completion I was hooked. Their sound grabbed me instantly and I had to hear more. Needless to say I did hear more - a lot more to be exact, and they have been one of my favorite, most cherished bands every since.

Hailing from Southern Sweden, Confessions of a star's Mattias (vocals, guitars) and Henrich (keyboards, drums, backing vocals) have been creating what they call rock/pop/electronica since the Spring of 2000. Remaining completely independant for the past five years, they have written, recorded, and produced all of their music exclusively in their own Crebo studio. Stories of love lost, betrayel, and the ever changing world around us: Each of their songs illustrating the tried and true pop song formula. Last Summer, the band compiled all 19 songs they had recorded at the time, and began selling their self-titled CDR album exclusively through their website. Now you might be asking yourself why you should purchase a CDR album when all of their songs are available to download for free, and some of them sound like they could be demos? Well my friends I shall tell you why...Because it's through the sales of the uber-cheap priced album and charitable donations from fans that allow them to continue making music and host thier website. Not only that, but that demo quality sound just might be the sound they are trying to achieve. Either way, the music is brilliant and well worth the meager ten dollars they are selling it for. Not only that, but how many bands will send you a personal thank you letter for the support and autograph your cd? Not too many I can think of. So as I'm sharing my super secret band with you all I wholeheartedly ask everyone who pays a visit to The Confessions Of A Star Homepage purchase their album if you like what you hear. Confessions Of A Star are definitely a band with a lot of opportunity for success, and even though they have been at it for five years, I honestly think they're just getting warmed up.
